LORI JODOIN LORI JODOIN is the most recent addition to Rodgers, Powers & Schwartz. She is a 2002 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law. Before joining RPS, Lori worked for a medium-size firm where she represented both management and executives in employment law matters. She had previously worked at a small public interest law firm in Boston where she represented clients in a variety of litigation matters. At RPS, Lori advises employees on all aspects of employment law and represents employees discriminated against on the basis of race, age, gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and pregnancy, as well as employees terminated as a result of retaliation or other protected conduct. She also works on wage violations, breach of contract, and First Amendment cases. During law school, Lori taught a first-year legal research and writing class, tutored first-year law students, served as a reader for a blind student, co-authored a certiorari petition to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of a death row inmate, participated in a constitutional law moot court competition, and represented individuals at the Poverty Law Clinic. Lori also interned with a Massachusetts Superior Court judge and with three litigation firms. Prior to law school, Lori interned for the Majority Whip of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and later worked in the Massachusetts Senate as an aide to a senator from Worcester and then as an aide to a Back Bay Democrat in the House of Representatives. She served on various citizens advisory committees in Boston, volunteered for the Democratic State Committee, worked on a number of political campaigns, and was an elected member of the Ward 5 Democratic City Committee. Lori continues to be an active member of the legal community in Boston. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (“MELA”) since 2003. Presently, she serves as the Co-chair of MELA’s Program Committee, where she plans monthly meetings on topics of interest to plaintiff-side employment attorneys. Lori also organizes brown bag lunches for her Women’s Bar Association mentor circle. In addition, Lori was appointed to serve on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Individual Rights and Responsibilities Section Council as well as its Post-Goodridge Task Force Committee for the 2006-2007 term. Outside of the law, Lori loves to be outdoors and particularly enjoys gardening, kayaking, and hiking. She lives with her non-lawyer partner and a fluffy orange cat named Buster. |
