The October 2007 publication of Massachusetts Superlawyers magazine surveyed 37,000 practicing attorneys throughout the state to select the top 5 percent of lawyers in the profession. For the fourth year in a row each partner in Rodgers, Powers & Schwartz -Elizabeth Rodgers, Kevin Powers, Harvey Schwartz, and Jonathan Margolis - was selected as a "Superlawyer," as was attorney Rob Mantell.

The Boston Bar Association awarded its prestigious President's Award to Rodgers, Powers & Schwartz partners Harvey Schwartz, Kevin Powers and Jonathan Margolis in recognition of their efforts representing two Saudi detainees at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In September and November 2007 the two men - Muhammed Mubarak al Kurbi and Naif Abdullah al Nakheelan - were returned to Saudi Arabia.

Rodgers, Powers & Schwartz LLP was selected as Massachusetts' "preeminent plaintiffs' employment law firm" by the prestigious Chambers Directory of the Best Business Lawyers in the United States. The recently published book described Kevin Powers as "one of the top plaintiffs' lawyers around" and said that "his knowledge is as deep as you could ask." Harvey Schwartz was described as "aggressive, strategic and bright." The directory is based on extensive telephone surveys of lawyers across the state and reflects the views of colleagues and peers.

Elizabeth Rodgers of Rodgers, Powers & Schwartz, LLP was reelected Chair of the National Employment Lawyers’ Association, Massachusetts Chapter for 2007-2008, and has been selected by National NELA to be on the Planning Committee for the 2008 and 2009 National Conventions.  National Employment Lawyers’ Association is the premier organization of employment lawyers representing primarily plaintiffs. The Massachusetts Chapter has over 100 members.  Robert Mantell of RPS, was re-elected Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Chapter for 2007-2008;  Lori Jodoin, of RPS, has been Co-Chair of the Program Committee for the Massachusetts Chapter from 2006-2008, and has organized over 10 CLE programs for MELA Members. Sara Smolik, of RPS, is  Mass. Chapter Amicus Committee Chair, and has overseen the submission of 5 amicus briefs on employment issues by MELA in 2007.
